The customer register of OHTO Nordic Home online store.

Purpose of processing personal data

The primary purpose of the register is to ensure that customers’ orders are delivered correctly. The register also enables us to handle potential issues related to the orders or returns made by customers. Thus, we collect personal data for maintaining customer relationships. The legal basis for processing personal data is created by an agreement between the seller and the customer and the statutory rights and obligations derived from it. Providing personal data is a requirement for the conclusion of the agreement.

Personal data is processed to maintain relations with the customers of the online store, for example, for contacts required by the customer relationship and direct marketing. The customer has the right to prohibit the use of data pertaining to them for direct marketing.

You may cancel your subscription to the newsletter at any time. Each newsletter includes a link you can click to cancel your subscription.

Storage and disposal of data:

Data in the customer register is stored for the duration of the customer relationship specified above in the section titled “Storage period of your personal data”. However, information regarding orders, invoicing, and payments will be stored in a similar manner to other accounting materials. Data that is no longer necessary will be disposed of safely and securely.

Principles according to which the register is protected:

The customer register is always processed confidentially. The register is protected against third-party access with firewalls and other technical protective measures. The register is only stored in an electronic format, and any occasional paper printouts will be destroyed safely and without delay.

The register is only accessible to people whose job description includes accessing the register and who are bound by professional secrecy. Each register user has a personal user ID and password.

The right of access:

Under the Finnish Personal Data Act, each customer has the right to inspect what data pertaining to them is stored in the register. Any requests must be sent to the specified contact persons.

Updating the information:

The customer may update their name and address information within their online store profile. In addition, the customer may contact the contact persons specified above to update their information.

Other rights of the data subject regarding the processing of personal data:

The customer has the right to prohibit the use of their data for marketing purposes. The request regarding the restriction of the processing of data must be presented to the contact persons for the register.
